Welcome to INW Soccer News 3.0!!

EASTERN WASHINGTON | EASTERN OREGON | IDAHO | MONTANA + MORE

INWsn emerged in 2012 with the intent to provide an outlet dedicated to the sport in the region and has long-lived on a free blogger provider. This new site is being launched to provide a greater breadth in coverage – those developments will be come over the next few months. I say that this is the third edition of INWsn because upon reflection, this site is really a reimagining of a PDL NW Report I created in the late 90s when I worked for the Spokane Shadow and wanted a way to aggregate news for the division and provide further information for the news media for the teams.

About the Editor – Gerald Barnhart

A long-time soccer administrator, I began working with the Spokane Shadow in the USL Premier Development League from 1997-99, watching and working with players like Brian Ching and Craig Waibel. I returned to the club (Spokane Sounders) with the re-launch of the Shadow First Team(s) and have worked for the Spokane Sounders in a multitude of roles (communications, operations, groundskeeper & First Teams manager) after working 10 years for United Soccer Leagues (Tampa, Fla.) in the communications department through mid-2010. A native of Spokane, Wash., I graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Journalism/Public Relations. I was also formerly a writer and co-manager of TheCup.us, the only site dedicated to covering the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup – the country’s only national championship tournament as well as a member of the North American Soccer Reporters association, for which I served as the communications officer for two years.
