A ball slipped into the box eight minutes into the match from Claire Pruner found Tatum Jackson, who cut back middle past a defender and fired home from near the penalty spot for the go-ahead Bear Creek goal. Jackson again was the key figure in what proved to be the game-winner in the 42nd minute. She received the ball while headed to goal and cut back central at the top of the box past a recovering defender and launched a 13-yard effort that keeper Lilly Nelson narrowly tipped, but the ball caromed off the crossbar and fell to Milly Smith about eight yards from goal on the opposite side for a one-time effort into the open half of the goal. Scrambling for a late comeback a shot from Aubrey Gregory squirted under the diving Bear Creek keeper Lucy Gilchrist to cut into the lead in the 79th, but it was not enough as the final whistle sounded shortly after.
