On one of the windiest days of the year, the Eagles of West Valley started the contest going into the wind and soared under the challenge. The team was slicing their way with possession through the Lynden defense to create numerous chances, coming away with one that Kyia Silva put away from close range in the 27th minute. The visitors had a few chances at the other end, but unfortunately the halftime whistle sounded and their opportunities to rally dwindled as they took their turn facing the gusty conditions. West Valley took advantage of the wind of their back quickly with a goal from Jenna Howe a couple minutes in and then a pair of goals late from Lauren Matthew and Daphne Van Wey cemented the result firmly in place.
