INW 26 Scoreboard – September 21

Notes of the Night

Opening Rally
In their Mountain West opener Boise State rallied in the second half on the road at Colorado College to push their overall record to 3-1-5.

Big Sky Battle
Continuing the slow kickoff of the season for the conference (one game yesterday, one today), the Eagles grabbed the initial lead but saw the Bengals rally with three consecutive – two from Kaylyn Buchanan – for a big enough hole the visitors could not climb out of.

Streak Busting
Idaho State’s league opening win was a big one as the Bengals had not beaten Eastern Washington since 2014, a seven-game win streak for the Eagles.

Opening the GNAC
Northwest Nazarene blanked host Central Washington on a goal and assist from freshman Nicole Lewis, who now leads the team in goals and points on the young season. Meanwhile, six different players scored for Seattle Pacific in their win over MSU Billings.

Last Minute Drama
Despite outshooting visiting Multnomah 21-2 and forcing 11 saves from their keeper Carroll just barely came away with the victory as a goal in the final minute from Delaney Moczan prevented a scoreless stalemate.

Saints Sweep
In addition to the ladies getting their dramatic win, the Carroll men took care of business against Multnomah in a 2-0 result in which the visitors only had one off target shot in the entire match – a third consecutive shutout for the Saints and Juan Muniz Navarrette. Senior Caleb Hoxie doubled his career tally with a brace on the day.
