INW 26 Scoreboard – September 23

Notes of the Night

Comeback Upset
For the first time in program history the Northwest Nazarene ladies rallied from a two-goal deficit on the road to claim a victory… and they did it against 13th ranked unbeaten Western Oregon, remaining unbeaten themselves now at 4-0-2.

First Win
The Whitworth ladies finally snagged their first victory, ending a winess run of seven games that included three draws and a pair of one-goal losses to open the season. Emmy Moore was the difference with a goal and assist against Pacific.

Pirate Sweep
Cole Friesen is on a roll. The sophomore set up the opener from Clayton Crockett and then went on to put Whitworth back in front for the win with a pair of goals a minute apart in the second half as they played with a man advantage created in the first half when he was tackled on a scoring opportunity just outside the box, eliciting a red card.

Wild Comebacks
Down in Ontario the ladies kicked things off with a wild one as Wenatchee Valley opened with two goals in the opening five minutes. But the second half proved to be a completely different matter as host Treasure Valley got back in it quickly and went on to add three more for a two-goal advantage before the two exchanged goals in the final five minutes for a thrilling finish. One would think lessons would have been gleaned from the opening game but a three-goal Treasure Valley lead in the men’s contest was not enough as Wenatchee Valley made a stunning comeback in the final 10 minutes of the match with four different goal scorers giving them the dramatic victory and a split on the day.

Warrior Sweep
Walla Walla took care of business in a couple of tough matches against visiting North Idaho, posting a pair of close-fought shutout victories.
