State Battle
The Vandals scored two early goals and twice in the span of a minute in the second half to what appeared to be an easy four-goal win – the biggest in the series history despite ISU’s recent struggles – but keeper Kira Witte was called upon to make 10 saves. The result pushes the Vandals into first with the two of the other three contests finishing even.
Eagles Off the Ground
After six consecutive losses Eastern Washington finally put a notch in the win column, rallying from an early goal to grab a victory at Weber State.
Fit to be Tied
The Bronco got a late goal with eight minutes left to earn a draw at Air Force, but Boise State’s tight contest was not the only one on the day in the Mountain West as three other matches were draws and the other two were decided by one goal. Only three teams on the day netted twice with two of them coming in one of the draws.
Blues Sweep
Whitman picked up a pair of victories on the day, snaring a couple of one-goal decisions against visting Pacific.
Yotes Silencing Opposition
While the offense may be putting up great numbers, the defense for the College of Idaho woomen is on a roll as well, posting their third shutout in the last four games and has only allowed one goal in their three league outings thus far. Sophomore Eden Makaafi netted her sixth and freshman Natasja Davis nabbed her seventh as they won their seventh consecutive. Meanwhile their counterparts on doing the same. The men blanked Rocky Mountain as well, giving them a perfect four for four shutout wins record early in the season.
