Seeing Double
The Grizzlies went to Idaho and picked up a victory on a pair of Delaney Lou Schorr headers from Ava Samuelson services that came two minutes apart early in the contest. The win keeps Montana’s streak intact at the Kibbie Dome, where they have won the last six. It also marked a rarity against the Vandals defense, which had allowed more than one goal to a Big Sky opponent only once in their previous 12 outings through last season.
Tough Stretch Over
Washington State came into the league slate with a 6-1 non-conference record, but three consecutive Top-25 matches to open PAC-12 play proved to be just too much as they dropped their third consecutive to defending national champion and No 5 UCLA 2-0 after a pair of one goal losses to No 2 Stanford and No 19 USC in the previous two.
Powerful Whits
The Whitworth and Whitman men went unbeaten on the weekend away from home with the Pirates getting a pair of victories against Willamette and Linfield and the Blues a win and a draw. Whitworth is now 4-0-1 since losing their opener and now only lie a point back of PLU. Meanwhile, the Whitman ladies were also unbeaten with a win and draw, going 3-0-1 since losing their opener to PLU and are within a game of PLU and UPS.
Red Hot
Cole Friesen is on a tear for Whitworth, scoring a pair of goals in each of their last three games en route to wins, giving him 11 on the year.
